Diploma - Working toward ECT
I believe in providing a warm and welcoming environment for children to learn and grow, enhancing the feeling of belonging, a home away from home and building a secure, respectful and reciprocal relationship with children and families.
I believe in a holistic approach by teaching and providing the opportunity to learn through play, while using intentional teaching to foster the children development.
A bit about me and my journey, I started my career in 2004 when I was 15, where I was employed as a trainee completing my certificate III, in 2013 after the birth of my first born, I decided to open my own family day care within my own home, this was very rewarding, where I was able to build personal relationships with the children and families, then in 2015, after the birth of my second child, I decided to close down my family day care and move into long day care and have not looked back, this is where I began my journey in long daycare, I started as a casual educator, then after 3 month was offered a part time position, moving from assistant educator to Lead educator, I completed my Diploma in 2018, I was offered a 2IC position in 2019 then in 2020 I enrolled with Swinburne Online and start my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Teaching and in 2021 was offered a position as Director/Nomination Supervision.

I lived in the Casino area until 1998 when I moved to Brunswick Heads. I enrolled my son at the
preschool in 2001 and was asked to join the preschool committee as a volunteer in the role of
Secretary. I filled this position for 12 years, then became an educator in 2013 and did my Certificate III in
Child Care. I have been an educator at Mullumbimby Preschool for over ten years.
During my time at the preschool I have enjoyed my role as educator and love meeting new children
and families each year. I like to nurture the children’s individual likes and dislikes and help them to
have a positive experience for their early years of education.

Diploma
I have been in early childhood since 2019 when I completed my certificate 3. I have since worked in
both long day care and preschool settings, with a great love for our beautiful centre here at
Mullumbimby Community Preschool. I did my very first TAFE prac here in 2019 and have been in
love ever since, finally being able to join the team as an educator in 2021 when there became
availability for me to return. Since then, I have completed my Diploma in Early Childhood Education,
which was done in 2022.
I believe in creating a safe, loving and welcoming space for all children and their families. I pride
myself on the great relationships that I have built over the years and that I will continue to build in
the years to come.

I am passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a positive learning environment for children. I believe that the early years of a child’s life are crucial for their overall development and sets the foundation for their future. Children’s needs extend beyond their physical wellbeing and I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where each child’s emotional needs are met.
I have lived in the Byron Shire my whole life and attended the local schools. I enjoy getting to know new families and reconnecting with people I have gone to school with and now care for their children.
I have been in the childcare industry for 5 years and previously worked with at risk youth specialising in therapeutic crisis intervention. Which is where I became passionate about the emotional well-being for children.
